What does Revelation 10:6 mean?
He swore by the one who lives forever, who created heaven and everything in it, earth and everything on it, and the sea and everything in it: 'There will be no more delay.' Revelation 10:6 - Modern Text Bible
(God’s plan is about to move forward—no more waiting.)
The angel swears by the God who created everything—heaven, earth, sea, and all life—that there will be no more delay. The Greek word for "delay" is chronos, which usually means time, but here it signals a halt to waiting. The promise is that the period of waiting is over; events are about to unfold without further pause.
This verse challenges both ancient and modern ideas that everything can be postponed or that consequences are always far off. It confronts the comfort of procrastination and the illusion that there’s always more time to act or change. When the angel says there will be no more delay, it’s a wake-up call that some moments are final and urgent.
If you’ve ever put off decisions or hoped that difficult things would just wait, this verse is a reminder that sometimes, the time to act comes suddenly. Not everything can be delayed forever. There are moments when life demands a response, ready or not.
