What does Proverbs 1:31 mean?

So now you’ll have to live with the results of your choices. You’ll get exactly what you asked for. Proverbs 1:31 - Modern Text Bible

(People will experience the consequences of their own decisions, reaping what they’ve sown by ignoring wisdom.)

People will experience the consequences of their own actions, good or bad. The Hebrew phrase "eat the fruit" means to fully live with the results of your choices. The verse challenges the comforting idea that you can avoid the fallout of your decisions. In ancient times, "fruit" was a symbol for outcome—what your life produces. Today, it's easy to blame circumstances or other people, but this verse says that at some point, you have to live with what you've chosen.

If you've ever made a decision and then had to deal with the fallout—good or bad—you've tasted this "fruit." The practical angle is that every choice shapes your future. If you want different results, it starts with making different decisions now, before the consequences are set in motion.
