What does Nehemiah 2:8 mean?

'And could I get a letter for Asaph, the manager of the king’s forest, so he’ll give me wood for the gates of the temple, the city wall, and my own house?' The king gave me everything I asked for, because God was helping me. Nehemiah 2:8 - Modern Text Bible

(He also asks for resources to rebuild the city. The king agrees, and Nehemiah credits God for making it happen.)
