What does Leviticus 1:17 mean?
He’ll tear the bird open by its wings, but not all the way apart. Then he’ll burn it on the altar, on top of the wood that’s already burning. This is a burnt offering, a gift that pleases God. Leviticus 1:17 - Modern Text Bible
(The bird is opened up but not completely separated, then burned as an offering. The act is meant to show complete dedication to God.)
