What does Joshua 7:11 mean?

Israel has sinned. They broke the agreement I made with them. They took things I told them not to touch, stole them, lied about it, and hid them among their own stuff. Joshua 7:11 - Modern Text Bible

(God is telling Joshua that the people have violated the covenant by taking things that were supposed to be set apart for God alone. This is a direct betrayal, not just a mistake.)
