What does Jeremiah 50:13 mean?

The Lord says: Because you made everyone swear by your name, and you defiled my holy place, I’m going to make Babylon a heap of ruins, a home for wild animals, a place people hiss at and avoid. No one will live there. Jeremiah 50:13 - Modern Text Bible
