What does Genesis 37:3 mean?

Jacob loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because Joseph was born to him in his old age. He made Joseph a special robe. When his brothers saw their father loved him most, they hated Joseph and couldn’t even speak to him kindly. Genesis 37:3 - Modern Text Bible
