What does Genesis 11:31 mean?

Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot (Haran's son), and his daughter-in-law Sarai, and they all left Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they got to Haran, they settled there instead. Genesis 11:31 - Modern Text Bible
