What does Exodus 16:3 mean?

The Israelites said to Moses and Aaron, 'Why did you bring us out here in the desert to die? Back in Egypt, at least we had plenty of food. We could sit around with full stomachs. But now you’ve dragged us out here, and we’re all starving.' Exodus 16:3 - Modern Text Bible

(The people are scared and frustrated. They remember Egypt as a place where their basic needs were met, even though they were slaves. Hunger makes them question Moses and Aaron’s leadership.)
