What does Ephesians 3:16 mean?

I’m asking him to give you, from his unlimited resources, the strength and power you need deep inside, through his Spirit. Ephesians 3:16 - Modern Text Bible

(Paul prays that God would empower them internally by his Spirit.)

God is able to give you real strength deep inside, not just on the outside. The Greek word krataioō means “to empower” or “to make strong,” and it’s about being reinforced at your core—your inner self, not just your public face. This strength comes “through his Spirit,” which means it’s not about willpower alone, but about a presence working within you.

Most people try to get stronger by fixing what’s visible—appearance, reputation, achievements. This verse flips that: true strength starts inside, in the part of you that no one else sees. It’s about resilience and capacity that doesn’t depend on circumstances.

If you’re feeling worn out, anxious, or like you’re barely holding it together, this verse is for you. There’s a kind of strength available that isn’t about pretending or pushing harder, but about being supported from the inside out. You don’t have to do it all on your own.
