What does Deuteronomy 34:4 mean?

Then the Lord said, This is the land I promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when I said, I’ll give it to your descendants. I’ve let you see it with your own eyes, but you won’t go in. Deuteronomy 34:4 - Modern Text Bible
